So it's been awhile....

Hi friends!  I had a rare day that wasn't overloaded with work or kid activities so I spent some time cleaning up files and blog shortcuts on my computer.  The majority of these blogs were nail blogs unfortunately.  Back in the day when Susan and I started this blog (I believe the year was 2010 when we started here on Blogger), nail blogs were all over the place and we had many blogger friends.  Susan and I grew our blog to our own domain and kept it alive until neither of us had time.  At the time we both had to say "Uncle" we were getting 4,500 unique hits a month from all over the world which is pretty decent for a tiny little blog like ours.  Rather than let our blog remain dormant we took our domain down with dignity and placed it into retirement.

As I was cleaning up old favorite blog links today I was saddened at so many old blogger friends that simply faded away.  A few have remained.  One had a baby which was a wonderful update to read!  A few had actually grown and founded their own polish lines and I'm so happy for them!  However so many others have simply just left their blog abandoned like rusty cars on the side of the road.

I pen a few blogs, this is the only under my real name.  People say blogs are dying.  I don't think that's the case.  Blogs that aren't entertaining are dying.  Blogs that aren't promoted using social media die.  I hope some nail blogs survive because Susan and I are still very much dedicated to our nails.  We still talk every day and amongst other things our nails come up in conversation on a regular basis.  While our polish collections aren't quite as large (mine is going to be up on Store Envy very soon to make room for my quilting addition), our passion for polish is still there.

I'm not taking our blog down.  Hindsight being what it is, I should have left a duplicate of our blog here instead of moving it to our domain but live and learn.  I may still pop out a stunning mani I want to share so you never know what might pop up here.

Until next time, stay finely polished!
